Cynthia Morton has worked in the field of education for over 29 years as a teacher, school counselor, peer educator, and virtual learning specialist. Outside of her professional career, she is a mother and grandmother. In addition to her work as an educator, Dr. Morton has presented at several academic conferences, educational workshops and webinars. Some of the areas of her expertise include conflict management, helping at-risk students, preparing parents for the new school year, suicide awareness, and youth mental health. Also, she holds several professional licenses and certifications in the areas of counseling, trauma and crisis, and civil mediation.

Hi, I’m Leigh Ann, mom to a cute toddler girl and one lovable but ornery golden retriever. I’m married to my high school sweetheart; 2018 will mark twelve years of marriage! We currently live in Kansas City, MO, where I work part-time as a high school teacher. The rest of my days are spent parenting, adventuring, and blogging! Most of my teaching career has been spent with high school freshmen through juniors, exploring the French language most of the time and American literature some of the time.
